All ESG locations are operating today.

One project being finalized for our Heil facility is a ventilation and cooling project.  This initiative has already been piloted at our Marathon facility and will have multiple benefits for our Heil team members including reduced indoor temperatures in the coming months.  Research has also shown that increased ventilation can reduce exposure to viruses such as COVID-19.  Below are a few excerpts:

  • “The more stagnant the air is, the more likely diseases are to spread.” American Lung Association https://www.lung.org/clean-air/at-home/indoor-air-pollutants/bacteria-and-viruses
  • “Increasing ventilation” can “reduce exposure to hazards” OSHA support for air movement (Page 12)https://www.osha.gov/Publications/OSHA3990.pdf
  • “Effective ventilation design can…improve worker well-being.” WHO (World Health Organization)
  • “Keep rooms well ventilated to reduce risk of infection” National University of Singapore (Page 1) https://sph.nus.edu.sg/2020/02/keep-rooms-well-ventilated-to-reduce-risk-of-infection/

The following fans (pictures below) will be installed in various locations throughout the Heil facility to promote increased air circulation:

Any other ideas and suggestions team members have for improving our work environment are welcome and can be submitted via “Find It Fix It” (FIFI) or to your direct supervisor or site leadership team members.

Stay safe and healthy everyone!
